Description
Ampersand Pay Sdn Bhd (APSB) is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) Development Team. You will work closely with architects and senior engineers on APSB’s core payment gateway, supporting its ongoing development, production operations and future-generation platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- • Develop, enhance and troubleshoot IPG modules, APIs, portals and supporting services.
• Perform bug fixes and application support for production IPG systems.
• Integrate with banks, payment service providers and other payment platforms, including certification activities.
• Assist merchants with technical integration and certification where required.
• Write and execute tests, including automated regression testing.
• Support deployment to development, staging and test environments.
• Work with the DevOps team on CI/CD, automation and operational improvements.
• Participate in the development of future IPG architecture and next-generation payment gateway capabilities.
Requirements
Core Skills
• Node.js and TypeScript
• REST/Web API and web application development
• MySQL, including database fundamentals and stored procedures
• Git/GitHub, branching, merging and basic CI/CD workflows
• Linux and Docker
• Debugging, troubleshooting, logging and observability
• Sound software engineering practices including code review, secure coding, testing, documentation and disciplined change management
A good understanding of fundamental software design concepts such as API design, asynchronous processing and resilient system design is desirable.
Added Advantages
- Experience or exposure in any of the following would be useful:
- Redis and message brokers such as NATS.io
- PostgreSQL
- Automated unit, integration and regression testing
- Cloud infrastructure and networkin
- Payment gateways, fintech or payment integrations
- High-volume or transaction-processing systems
- Payment security, cryptography, PCI DSS or BNM RMiT
- Agile/Scrum and Jira or similar project-management tools
Around 3 years of software development experience is preferred, although strong junior candidates with good fundamentals and learning ability are encouraged to apply.
